The Candy Baron Scribbles

The Hangman's Rhetoric

Pour me a drink and I'll tell you a lie. Now then, what would you like to hear? I could tell you there's purpose and good in the world, But now, that wouldn't be sincere. The world is a rotting cauldron of sorrow But you wouldn't know Because you're chasing tomorrow. That's all well and good, but its merely deception Deception by others, deception of self You're wasting your time just toiling away, When you're on my noose you'll have nothing to say All that you've done will crumble to dust, And all that you know will fade into black There'll be nothing to show for where you have been, And nothing to say for where you shall go.
